About
Tribe Women’s Health Advocate is a women’s health advocacy service that stands firmly for promoting women’s health within the public health system. Founded by stage 4 terminal cervical cancer survivor Ellie Taylor, whose first diagnosis was completed within a three year smear cycle – after a clear smear, who found that women’s health is often ignored, pushed to the bottom of the pile and simply being given no real resources to support struggling women.
Tribe is about empowering women both to know their own bodies and their rights when requesting help from their GP about anything related to their health, especially gynaecologically.
Tribe stands for better education in school about women’s bodies, and proper healthcare for taking care of their bodies. Things like properly understanding their periods, reproductive system, and things like smear tests, should be on the curriculum for girls personal educations, adequately preparing them for the changes their bodies are going through.
